This week in school we have been finding out about the ‘Hidden Treasures’ within our own school community.  Many parents have kindly given up their time to inspire the children and help them understand  the wide variety of skills and talents that people have.  The week started with Dr Shipley coming in teaching the children  how to play tag rugby.

On Tuesday the children got the opportunity to take part in  forest School cookery.  The children learnt about the history of fire and how to be safe around fire.  They made herbal tea and toasted marshmallows.

On Wednesday the school field was transformed in to an arena.  Mrs O’ Brien brought along her very well trained dogs and the children took part in a dog show.  Mr O’Brien demonstrated to the children the craft of black smithing.  The children were fascinated.

Today we have had Ms Sellars in talking to the children about councils and decision making and Mrs Brewis has put the children through their paces with some vocal coaching and singing.

The children have learnt lots this week and hopefully have been inspired by something they have seen or taken part in.  Many thanks to everyone who has supported Community week.  We all really appreciate it.
