As the country took to the polls yesterday so did all of the children in Burton Agnes school as Class 4 ran their very own general election.
As part of our work on British values and democracy, where everyone has a chance to have their say, the children were put in to groups to represent different parties. Given the names of ‘Transform’, ‘Vision’, ‘Progress’ and ‘Tomorrow’, each part prepared their own manifesto and confidently presented these to the rest of the school. Each child in school had to register to vote and were then given a Ballot paper to vote on at the Polling Station.
The victorious party were the Transform party who were very gracious winners and shook the hands of the other parties before celebrating. Well done everyone.
