This week the children in Class 2 took a step back in time and entered the Victorian era.
As part of their Hidden Treasures topic the children have been thinking about treasures in our community and people who help us. Nurses had been identified as a helpful group and the children have been comparing nurses today with nurses from the past.
Having already learnt about the work of Mary Seacole in the Crimean War through Black History Month, the children learnt about another famous Victorian nurse, Florence Nightingale and had a personal visit from the lady with the lamp who told them all about her work.
