This week the DFE published the performance tables for primary schools. It places burton agnes as top performing Primary School in Hull and the East Riding.
We are delighted at the outstanding results the school achieved this year and to be the top performing school in the East Riding this year and ninth in the whole country is the icing on the cake for our whole school community.
For every single one of our pupils to achieve the expected standard in all subjects is a huge achievement and a real testament to the hard work of the pupils, the creativity and dedication of our staff and the support of our parents. Not only did we have 100% of pupils achieving the expected standard but we had a high number of pupils working at greater depth within the national standard and the progress the children made from their KS1 starting points was also very impressive.
As a school we have looked carefully at how we effectively teach the pupils everything that they need to know within a curriculum that is very challenging. The children have a great work ethic and this year have taken a great deal of responsibility for improving their work and responding to the feedback and careful guidance given by their teachers.
All of our staff across the whole school work tirelessly to ensure the children have the very best out of their time at Burton Agnes. To achieve this success, whilst still ensuring the children received a fun, broad and balanced curriculum, where results are not the only indicator of success, makes us incredibly proud.
